Recognising that every care leaver’s journey is different, we facilitate person-centred placements through varied accommodation options. All residents benefit from private bedrooms, with a choice of:
Ensuite facilities (promoting privacy and autonomy)
Shared bathrooms (encouraging social integration)
This range allows us to work closely with social work teams to match the environment to the young person’s current stage of independence.
Private Space & Dignity
Every resident receives a private, semi-furnished bedroom. We provide high-quality essentials, including a bed, mattress, wardrobe, and chest of drawers, to ensure immediate comfort.
Why Semi-Furnished? We intentionally keep the décor neutral to give residents the autonomy to personalise their space.
Identity: Residents are encouraged to add their own soft furnishings, posters, and photos.
Ownership: Creating their own environment fosters a sense of belonging and encourages residents to take pride in their home.
Stability: This approach reduces the “institutional” feel, helping young people settle faster and feel more secure.
Facilities: Choice of ensuite or shared bathrooms to align with individual placement matching
Connectivity: Reliable Wi-Fi included for education, employment, and social connection.
Shared Living & Tenancy Readiness
Communal areas (kitchen, lounge, dining) are maintained to high standards to replicate a realistic independent living environment.
Skill Development: Shared spaces allow residents to practice daily living skills (cooking, cleaning, maintaining a tenancy).
Social Integration: Encourages respectful co-living and social confidence.
Oversight: Regular staff visits ensure communal standards are upheld and house rules are respected.
Safety, Compliance & Support
We maintain a robust safeguarding framework suitable for light-touch placements.
Statutory Compliance: Full adherence to Fire, Gas, and Electrical safety regulations, including regular inspections and PAT testing.
Security: Secure entry systems and CCTV on external entrances for resident safety.
24/7 Safety Net: While support is visiting/light-touch, we operate a 24/7 emergency on-call line to manage urgent incidents and ensure continuity of care.
Placement Matching & Compatibility
We do not believe in “filling beds.” We focus on creating balanced households where residents can thrive without conflict. To ensure placement stability, we assess every referral against the current dynamic of the home.
Our Matching Criteria:
Risk Profile: Careful assessment of current risks to ensure safety for the individual and existing residents.
Independence Level: Matching the young person’s resilience to the level of staff oversight available.
Group Dynamics: Evaluating peer compatibility to minimize negative influence and friction.
Support Needs: Ensuring our team has the specific skill set to meet emotional and social requirements.
Accommodation Type: Aligning privacy needs (ensuite vs. shared facilities) with the young person’s budget and risk assessment.
